The grey Grey cloud is always scared of thunder and lightning, even when there isn’t any, because he remembers it. He is a crybaby and always cries. But a silver fairy comes and shows him that even the scary thunderstorms are good, because they frighten away the mean witches and goblins and monsters who make mischief. The silver fairy becomes the cloud’s silver lining.
This was a cute book with nice illustrations. I didn’t particularly like the cover, but the pictures on the inside are cute and colorful and whimsical. I liked the idea of the thunderstorms scaring away goblins and lightning “un-doing” the naughty magic that the witches did, although some kids may not be mature enough to handle witches and magic. Know your kid and know what they’re ready for.
Narayan also did The Red RED Car, reviewed here.
