I have one (1) copy of Slip Of The Knife to give away!
(Review to come. Click Here to download the discussion guide.)
(Hardcover, paperback)
Paddy Meehan is no stranger to murder—as a reporter she lives at crime scenes—but nothing has prepared her for this visit from the police. Her former boyfriend and fellow journalist Terry Patterson has been found hooded and shot through the head. Paddy knows she will be of little help—she had not seen Terry in more than six months. So she is bewildered to learn that in his will he has left her his house and several suitcases full of notes. Drawn into a maze of secrets and lies, Paddy begins making connections to Terry's murder that no one else has seen, and soon finds herself trapped in the most important—and dangerous—story of her career.

I personally like the hardcover better… maybe because I really like that gate. I have a weakness for pretty gates. I think I want that gate around my house. But then I’d have to have a mansion to go with it… anyone want to give me a mansion with a fancy gate?
Good luck to all of you!

I like the first cover better. It is milder, doesn't paint such a lonely picture as the second one does. I would be more likely to pick the first one up than the second even though it is the same book..
ReplyDeleteI like the one with the unmade bed because it looks so stark.
ReplyDeleteI like the first cover best. It has a mysterious quality to it, perhaps the gate to a cemetery, but it isn't too gruesome.

I like the cover on the left. The ironwork, the leaves--it's evocative but not creepy. Still, it brings to mind a graveyard.
ReplyDeleteI like the first one better. I think it fits the storyline better.
ReplyDeleteThanks! :0)
I think the cover with the gate is more unique and intriguing. The gate, based on the angle of the picture looks so daunting and makes it feel as if it is so forbidden to enter. Like you don't know whats on the other side and don't want to know. This makes me shiver more than the other cover with just a bed in the dark. The cover with the gate haunts me more psychologically if I saw it for the first time compared to the other cover.
ReplyDeleteI would definately chose the first cover. It has a cool mysterious feel to it.
ReplyDeleteThese new covers with photos don't work a lot of the time, this I think, is one of them.

I like the cover with the gate. The title of the book and that picture on the cover makes the book more mysterious and it is begging you to read and find out what it is all about.

tough choice they are so different so I like each of them for different reasons but I'd probably buy cover one over cover 2
ReplyDeleteThe first one!
ReplyDeleteI definitely like the hardcover best! I love that gate! Thanks
ReplyDeleteI like the gate with the vines. It is a beautiful gate and I want to know what is behind it. The bed seems so lonely and sad.
ReplyDeleteI like the first cover better. It seems more mysterious, and the book is a mystery of sorts. Mysterious + mystery. There's so much more possibility with the gate than a dreary, depressing sort of bed.
ReplyDeletei like cover number 2...it adds more mystery to the book.
ReplyDeleteI like the first cover better with the iron gate. I am visually attracted to pretty things so I would probably notice the book with that cover vs the other one.

I like the second cover better with the bed. It's creepier and you are enticed by the cover. Just based on the cover you think does someone kill someone in their sleep by a slip of the knife. This cover caters more to an acual murder than the cover with a gate.

The second cover is much better. It makes you want to read the book because the scene is disturbing and scary in the dark.
