The Silver Key (CD) (Click here to buy)
The Weirdo Deluxe
Rating:
Have you ever heard of Notpron or Weffriddles? Or since we’re talking bookies here, how ‘bout Twilight Riddle by Julika? Do you love riddles?
You’ll love this.
The Silver Key is a CD with music and a few other miscellaneous
things like Bingo cards and maps with no words. It’s a complicated riddle where, at the end, there is a silver key. The first person to solve the riddle and find the key gets to keep it, they win cash prize of $1000, and an additional dollar for every CD sold. All the clues necessary to find the key are in the album and the things that come with it.
This is a very creative and mind boggling idea! I love it. I love riddles and make book-themed ones like Julika’s (linked above) so I jumped at the chance to review this. I’m not quite sure how to go about doing it, though.
Let’s start with this—the songs are not ones that you’ll listen to for enjoyment purposes. You listen to them to try to solve the riddle. They are mysterious and teasingly simple in words yet complicated in answer. I like the music itself—most of them are not irritating, but one or two are just a little… weird. Hence, Weirdo Deluxe.
No, I didn’t solve the riddle. I’m not that creative. However it does get you thinking outside the box. And really, I can’t help but wonder if I listened to it enough and looked at those maps a little more, maybe I would solve it…
Content: brief mention of sex, no violence, no language.
Recommendation: Ages 15+ students, teachers, riddlers who love to think.
