You know what I’ve noticed?

I’ve noticed something and it annoys me. There are a million knitting books out there for socks. And sweaters. And more socks. And baby clothes. And more socks. And scarves. And handbags. And more more socks.

No mittens.

No, I’m serious.

I’ve had to search the internet for knitting patterns for mittens. Sure there’s tons out there… but not many that I like.

So I’m adding to my list of New Years resolutions “put together a book of lots of mitten patterns that I like and can make reasonably well.” Some may be my patterns, some may be other peoples. However, I want to be able to say “Hm, I think I’ll make so-and-so a pair of mittens for Christmas/Birthday/ Anniversary/whatever”, and be able to open a book and pick one.

So that’s what I’ve noticed, and that’s my solution to the problem.

If there are any knitters out there who have a favorite pattern for mittens (no gloves! I hate knitting fingers…) I would greatly appreciate a link in the comments…

  1. I'm totally beside myself that there aren't any books for knitting mittens?! That seems weird to me.
