Review: Jack’s Dreams Come To Life

Jack’s Dreams Come To Life by Sara Jackson
Rating: 4/5
Genre: Children’s literature and fiction

Jack’s Dreams Come To Life tells the story of a puppy-dog named Jack who dreams a wacky series of events that involve his toys coming to life.

The only reason I don’t give it 5/5 is because I think younger kids might be intimidated by the idea of a monster-5-foot squirrel chasing the puppy-dog. But mostly a kid would see it as hilarious.

The illustrations in this book are very cute, and look like they were painted in an airbrush style—they’re sort of light, almost cloud-like, and works as a great tool to illustrate the idea of dreams.

At the end of the story, Jack wakes up and sees that all his toys (who had been chasing him around and trying to have a barking/quacking contest with him) were back in his toy bin. This book shows children that it’s ok for dreams to be a little strange, weird, and scary at times because they’re not real and you’ll always wake up!

Recommendation: Children under the age of 6
